a first generation archival project
celebrating successes. sharing struggles. preserving our history.
-

Share your Story.
-We conduct oral history interviews with first generation students and affiliates. Interviewees have discretion over how their story is preserved and accessed in a dedicated first generation archival collection.
-Collect donated ephemera for preservation. Students, alumni, and faculty are welcome to donate personal & academically significant works, from essays to artwork.
-Publish findings + curated materials in group newsletter, physical exhibit, presentations, social media, University Archives, etc.
-

Build the 1G Community
-ASU support + discussion group that reflects honestly on the first generation experience
- Offers peer support for those facing isolation, imposter syndrome, and burnout.
-Connects with first gen-friendly groups, faculty, high schools, resources, & similar groups at other universities.
-Newsletter provides ASU resources, opportunities, and student-submitted creative content.
-Stay tuned for discussion meeting times! We meet several times a semester in-person & online. (Subject to change due to COVID-19)
